How long doe a pre-driver clinical evaluation take?
A pre-driver clinical evaluation takes 2 hours.
Can I use my own car for the driving evaluation and training?
The on-road assessment and training is completed in the Adaptive Driving Program’s vehicles. We use our car because it has special equipment for added safety.
Don’t worry though! We appreciate that driving someone else’s car requires adjustment. Therefore, the first thing we will do is give you time to get used to our car. Then, once you are ready, the evaluation will begin. The driving assessment will begin first by traveling in zero to low traffic routes (parking lot, park, neighborhood) and then progressing to more challenging driving environments (2 lane road, 4 lane road and highway).
Who will receive a copy of my evaluation?
A copy of your driving evaluation will be shared with your referring doctor.
Will you take my driver’s license?
No, as specialists, we evaluate your performance with driving and any impact from illness or injury. We work with you, your family, and doctor to help determine safe goals with driving.
